A hint of pink

My namesake tomato is blushing!  Faith Jr. is the tomato on the right - notice the color is slightly less green with a hint of pink.

This picture shows that there is a nice tinge of red around the BER.

The tomato is almost a salmon color.  In a few days it should be ripe enough to eat.  I'm bringing a salt shaker with me to the greenhouse on one of the mornings in the week to come.

We had a beautiful evening that led to lots of nice dew on the plants.  This cabbage leaf had a rainbow of dew on it in the morning sun.  My camera just doesn't do it justice.Click on the picture to enlarge and a rainbow is just slightly visible.  So pretty!

The other good news?  The zucchini are blossoming!  There is another zucchini that I pollinated yesterday.  This one will open tomorrow.  I may have enough for relish without having to buy some at the farmers market.

Those tomatoes are getting really big and I do see the pink tinge...won't we long now. Our zucchini are just starting to blossom too.

Moose dropping N-P-K

According to this UAF link, Moose droppings are this nutritious for your garden, and mine:

"Moose droppings have the following fertilizer equivalent values during the months of May and June: Moisture 74%, nitrogen 2.5%, phosphate (P205) 1.8%, potassium (K20) 1.2%, zinc 0.6%, calcium 1.6% and magnesium 0.7%. The nutrient values for moose droppings during the winter months is less than 50% of the summer values.1"

My take: Moose dropping N-P-K is 3-2-1, according to the pros at UAF. So compost moose poo all you want.
